Inside Welsh Homes at Scolton Manor

Our homes are often considered a reflection of our values, beliefs and attitudes. Isaac Haley lived at Glan-brân in Carmarthenshire around 1900, and like many other wealthy home owners at that time he used new photographic technology to record the rooms of his home. Mr. Haley used a mirrored wardrobe to reflect his own image, allowing him to take this self-portrait. DI2012_0180, NPRN 96046

After a very successful first showing at Ceredigion Museum, our ‘Inside Welsh Homes’ exhibition is moving on to a new venue. It will open at Scolton Manor in Pembrokeshire on Friday 24 August, and runs until Saturday 20 October 2012. For details about opening times and admission, visit the Scolton Manor website.

Scolton Manor, near Haverfordwest, was built in 1842 by a local firm of architects William & James Owen. The Victorian house provides a delightful setting for our exhibition, with many furnishings and objects on display that complement our own images.
