Llanerchaeron Countryside and Coastal Management Fair. |
On Thursday, 29 September, Royal Commission staff attended the Welsh Countryside and Coastal Management Fair in Llanerchaeron. On a day of glorious sunshine, the Royal Commission joined other members of countryside and conservation organisations in hosting an exhibition stand, distributing free leaflets and booklets, and offering advice and information throughout the day. Highlights of the day included a fascinating talk on the Skomer marine nature reserve and a number of well-prepared presentations focused on sustainable methods of countryside management. Enquiries at the Royal Commission stand were numerous and many were particularly interested in the Commission’s tree-ring dating programme which is currently in its third year of a successful partnership with the North West Wales Dendrochronology project. Many of the reports from this project are now publically available on Coflein.
