Bangor Station, North Wales on 11 July 1946 |
In Model Railway Journal no.235 is a short article, ‘The Eye in the Sky’ by Charlotte Hill, about images in the Aerofilms collection and their use for railway modelling and historical research. The collection is owned jointly by English Heritage, the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland and the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales and can be accessed online at http://www.britainfromabove.org.uk. Here is a sample image from Wales: Bangor Station on the north Wales main line photographed on 11 July 1946, showing the goods yard, locomotive depot and part of the station. Incidentally, does anyone know what was the large, north-light roofed railway building on the left?
