The Europa Barbarorum project is a volunteer organisation composed of academics, technicians, programmers, artists and other volunteers that has sought to present a historically accurate depiction of the later Iron Age (272BC-AD14) in the form of modified versions of mainstream computer games. Since conception it has received critical and popular acclaim from both the gaming community and wider populace.
We are pleased to announce that Andrew Lamb, Faction Coordinator and Researcher for the project will be speaking at Digital Past and will look at the issues surrounding the way the past is depicted, with a paper titled ‘Don’t dumb it down, historical accuracy is fun: Discussing the Europa Barbarorum project and its impact on the gaming community’.
