A two day international conference taking place on 18 and 19 October 2013 in County Wicklow.

The aim of the event is to highlight the significance of industrial heritage in Ireland and further afield, and to share international best practice in managing and promoting this heritage.

Speakers from Wales include Stephen Hughes, Projects Director at the Royal Commission and Secretary of TICCIH, The International Committee for the Conservation of Industrial Heritage; Professor Huw Bowen of Swansea University and John Rodger MBE, Member of the Blaenavon World Heritage Site Steering Group.

The event is organised by Glens of Lead, a community initiative working to improve the understanding and protection of Ireland’s most important historic lead mining centre in the Wicklow Mountains. They are a partner with the Royal Commission and the Copper Coast Geopark on the InterReg 4A (Ireland-Wales) Metal Links: Forging Communities Together project.
